Full bathroom with claw-foot tub/shower. Covered porch overlooking the lake. For larger families or groups, Mrs. Coolidge's also contains a large second floor with a sitting area and curtained sleeping alcoves with a double bed and three single beds, plus full bathroom with claw-foot tub (no shower). OSGOOD (Accommodates 1-2). Situated about 300 feet from lake. A self-sufficient bedroom suite containing double bed; small kitchen unit; sitting area; and full bathroom with shower (no tub). GATE COTTAGE (Accommodates 1-8). Living room with woodstove. Dining room area. Kitchen. Three bedrooms-two with double beds, and one with two sets of bunk beds. Two full bathroom, one with shower, one with tub. Outside sitting area. The Gate Cottage is located at the entrance to the property and is about 600 feet from the lake, down a wooded path, to a lakefront sitting and swimming area with dock. Available year-round. GARDENER'S COTTAGE (Accommodates 1-6). Living room with woodstove. Dining room. Kitchen. Three bedrooms-one with queen bed, one with double bed, one with two single beds. One full bathroom with pedestal tub/shower; one half-bathroom with toilet and sink. Outside sitting area. The Gardener's Cottage is located near the entrance to the property and is about 800 feet from the lake, down a wooded path, to a lakefront sitting and swimming area with dock. Available year-round. FURTHER INFORMATION
All cabins are available from the middle of May through the middle of October. Six cabins are available year-round: Mrs. Coolidge's, President's, Longfellow, Osgood, Gate Cottage and Gardener's Cottage.
A family or group may rent more than one cabin. White Pine Camp is perfect for a reunion or special celebration. A cabin can also be rented for several consecutive weeks. There is a peaceful, friendly, small community feeling to the setting. It is very non-commercial and unstructured. Rowboats, canoes and kayaks are available for guests' use. Motor boats are not allowed nor are pets, except in Gate Cottage or Gardener's Cottage.
Each cabin or unit comes completely equipped with bedding, linens, towels and paper products. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need for cooking and dining. All you need to bring is the food. Unless otherwise stated, each cabin's bathroom has a clawfoot tub with shower. There are no televisions or phones in the cabins; this is a time to experience life differently from the rest of the year. However, we do have a pay phone available for guests' use and a number for you to leave with the folks back home in case they need to reach you.
From June 24 through September 1, cabins are rented by the week, unless there are last-minute vacancies. The rest of the year we offer both a weekly and a nightly rate (typically with a two-night minimum).
Guests may use the Great Room. The Great Room has a big fireplace and is furnished with comfortable seating, a reading corner, library, puzzles and board games, etc. It also has a large screened porch overlooking the lake.
LIVING IN A MUSEUM
Peace, quiet, and privacy will characterize your stay at White Pine Camp. This is true even as White Pine Camp is open to the public as a historic site. Once or twice a week in season on average, our staff conducts a group of visitors around the camp. We notify you when you arrive if and when a tour will be viewing your cabin--a visit that takes just a few minutes, if it happens at all. The rest of the time White Pine Camp is totally private. We began offering tours in 1997. Since then, our guests have been virtually unanimous in saying that the occasional tours did not detract from their experience. In fact, many have said they actually got a kick out of "living in a museum". The best testimony of all is how many guests return each year.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations may be made by calling 518-327-3030. We can answer your questions and suggest alternatives if your first choice is not available. The reservation office is open daily from 9am to 9pm. You can secure your reservation by charging half the amount of your stay to your Visa or Mastercard. We will also hold a reservation for seven days if you would prefer to send a personal check for your deposit.
After receiving your reservation, we will send you a confirmation. The balance of your payment is due upon arrival.
Should you have to cancel, if we are able to re-rent your unit for the nights you reserved, we will be glad to refund your deposit, subject to a $25 cancellation fee in fall-winter-spring or $50 in summer; otherwise, the deposit is non-refundable.
